My approach to working with clients is that of being direct, honest, and straightforward, simultaneously balancing that with compassion, empathy, openness, and acceptance. I meet my clients “where they are at,” honoring their autonomy and freedom of choice.

Your life, your journey, and your healing are entirely your own. I am here to support you at every stage and with every choice you make. Even if your decisions differ from what I might personally choose, I promise to offer my honest insights all while fully respecting your right to make your own decisions and helping you make the best of your circumstances. Oftentimes, our most valuable lessons come from our own experiences and the decisions we make, not from what others may advise.

To me, life isn’t a matter of black or white, but rather filled with various and nuanced shades of gray. This lens recognizes the complexity and uniqueness of each person’s individual experience. My understanding that everyone’s journey is meaningful, valid, and equally important guides my approach to counseling, affirming my belief that there’s no universal or one-size-fits-all answer in therapy or in life.

My Background

From a very early age, my own experiences with mental health have significantly shaped my path to becoming a therapist. I made a promise to myself long ago to transform my struggles into something purposeful and significant by deriving meaning from my pain. This personal commitment laid the groundwork for my career.

Connecting deeply with others is a fundamental part of who I am, particularly with those who find it difficult to express their feelings and open up. It is incredibly rewarding for me to help clients, especially those who tend to guard themselves closely, gain the strength to become emotionally vulnerable and let their walls down.

My lifelong fascination with the complex interplay of mind, body, and spirit has been a constant companion throughout my journey. Driven by this curiosity, I have always sought to examine and understand the complexities of life, human nature, and psychology.

My Counseling Philosophy and Approach

As a therapist, my paramount goal is to provide my clients with a safe space of trust, respect, and non-judgment, where you feel valued, heard, seen, and understood. I hope you always feel my sincere care and concern, with the assurance I have your best interests at heart. I believe that within each of us lies an innate goodness and a divine spark. It may be deeply buried, but it is there and waiting to shine.

During our journey together, there will be times when I challenge you, bring up hard truths, ask tough questions, and encourage you to stretch yourself. I will push you, but not too hard. My goal is to build you up, empower you, help you see your worth, and believe in you when you may not believe in yourself.

My Specialties

Regardless of the challenges my clients face—be it trauma, depression, anxiety, addiction, PTSD, or relationship struggles—I firmly believe in each person’s inherent capacity for healing. My approach to therapy is rooted in recognizing trauma as a core component of psychological issues, moving beyond just symptom management or behavior modification. I view trauma as a common experience that varies in intensity across a spectrum, affecting nearly everyone to some degree. My goal is to tackle the root causes of issues and rewire your brain, rather than just adjusting mere surface level thoughts.

Originally, my work primarily used CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) to change negative thought patterns and behaviors. While I still incorporate CBT techniques, shifting to a trauma-focused approach has greatly changed my perspective on therapy. This shift has led me to integrate additional methods for a more in-depth exploration, including IFS (Internal Family Systems), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Hypnotherapy, and Somatic/Body work.

A Little More About Me

I’m very close to my family and cherish my time with friends. My love for animal runs deep, and my two cats are my fur babies! I have a wanderlust spirit and am always eager to travel and explore new destinations. I love photography, documenting my life experiences, and decorating my home with memories. Writing poetry and exploring other creative writing avenues have been loves of mine for as long as I can remember. Music and dance hold a special place in my heart, offering transformation and joy that nourish my emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being! For self-care, I stick to a routine of my own personal therapy, physical activity, clean eating, socializing with others, meditation, and spiritual practices.

I’m an avid learner, particularly drawn to subjects within my professional sphere. I consider myself extremely fortunate to be in a profession that not only do I love, but also promotes continuous personal and professional growth. I look forward to finding out more about how I can help you along your journey!
